Multiliteracies Unit
One of our projects that gets the most interest is the Multiliteracies Unit which we've presented at state teachers' conferences (WCTE and WEMTA) and as teacher professional learning. The heart of this project is an approach to lesson design that engages self-directed exploration that teaches multimodal composition as response to choice reading. The project itself was integrated into an Elementary Literacy Methods course, but the exemplar projects created by MCEA Content Minor students continue to live on as powerful digital texts that can inspire students and teachers alike. Visit our Digital Salon to access project exemplars and learn more about the project. |
Introduction to SAMR by Grace Binder
In this opening session, you will get an intensive education on the SAMR framework. The framework, which stands for the framework's four levels (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition) helps assess and evaluate the technology being used in your classroom. With this reflective model, you can learn to critique your technology implementation and push it to the next level!

Engaging in Peer Mentorship by Daniel Ma
During this opening session, the Teachology mentors will model the Peer Mentorship workshop process using their own lesson design. Then, groups will be divided and provided with supporting resources to guide the peer mentorship process, with ongoing facilitatory support from the Teachology team. Each participant will rotate- having the chance to engage as mentee and mentor throughout the session. |
