Meet our Team- Fall 2015
Grace Binder, Elementary Education
Grace is a senior at UW-Madison with an Elementary Education Major and History Major. As a proud Badger fan, she loves attending sporting events and other games to show that being a Badger is "in her blood." Outside of school, Grace tutors elementary children who have difficulty with school, as well as operating as the Sun Prairie Younglife team leader, a Christian mentoring program for high school students. She also is the Vice President of the School of Education Student Ambassadors and is on the executive board for the UW-Madison Chapter of the Wisconsin State Reading Association. |
Daniel Ma, Elementary Education
Daniel Ma is a student at UW-Madison working towards an Elementary Education Major, a Dual Mathematics-Science Minor as well as a Music Performance Degree. He views both music and teaching as important parts of his life and enjoys when they overlap. Daniel teaches music lessons privately, performs at the UW Children's hospital, and occasionally serves as an instructor through the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra program. In his spare time, Daniel works as a teacher an after school program and also tutors English Language Learners. |
Carley Varo, Elementary Education
Carley Varo is a fifth year student at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She is student teaching in an 8th grade classroom at Whitehorse and is getting ready to graduate at the end of the semester. She has a passion for teaching and loves to incorporate her creativity and energy to bring technology and joy into her classroom. Carley is married and has two chinchillas and a cat. Her and her husband love to hang out and play games with friends as well as spend the evening chinchillin' with their pets. |
Emily Schmitz, Elementary Education
Emily is in her final semester at UW-Madison studying Elementary Education with a content focus in mathematics. She is currently student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom at Schenk Elementary where she is overwhelmed with the joy her students bring to her life. Outside of the classroom, Emily thrives on staying active, trying new restaurants, reading, and traveling. She also loves watching sports—spending most fall weekends cheering on the Badgers and Packers. |
Megan Radke, Elementary Education
Megan is currently in her final semester at UW-Madison studying Elementary-Education and science. She is currently student teaching in a fourth grade classroom at Schenk Elementary, and loving every minute of it. Megan is on the executive board for the UW-Madison chapter of the Wisconsin State Reading Association, a club dedicated to educational literacy practices. When she is not student teaching, Megan loves to cook new recipes, hike outdoors, read, and travel the world. |
Brianne Kashak, Elementary Education
Brianne Kashak is in her final semester at UW-Madison studying Elementary Education with a content focus in English Language Arts. She is currently student teaching in a 5th grade classroom at Schenk Elementary and is loving being in the classroom ever day. She especially enjoys getting to know the students on a deeper level and seeing the day-to-day operations/planning that goes into being a teacher. Outside of the classroom, Brianne is a nanny to a 3 year old boy who she has been watching since before he was one (he's the cutest)! She also is a lover of baking, spending time at the terrace, and reading great books.

Lindsay Stoetzel, Graduate Student Collaborator

She has a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University and a Bachelor's degree in English-Secondary Education from Grand Valley State University. She has worked as a middle school and high school English teacher in southwest Michigan and currently teaches methods courses and supervises preservice teachers at UW. |
